California Trip- Day ONE

And so it begins!! Here we are at the SLC airport waiting to get on the flight for California and DISNEYLAND!! The kids were so excited that it was absolute torture waiting to get on the plane. Then once we got on the plane the kids realized that each seat had a TV right in front of them! We had to tear their attention away from the TV so that they would realize that we were taking off! They did giggle and squeal with delight when they realized what was happening but soon after getting in the air they were right back to being glued to the tube.

Once we arrived we drove 20 mins to our Condo's. Tony's parents were so generous in letting us use their Worldmark resort points for our trip. It was a beautiful place with 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen. We were only 5 blocks from the entrance to Disneyland. There was a shuttle that picked us up at the corner of the resort and drove us right to the gates.

Once inside the gates we decided to conquer California Adventure first. We had heard that there isn't as much 'younger' kid stuff there so it would only take 1/2 a day. It was already 2pm by the time we arrived. We went straight to Flick's Fun Fair. Our first ride was one of Tony and my favorites. It was Become a Bug 3-D. All I can say is WOW. You really feel like you are in an ant hole and things are crawling all around you! The kids got a little scared but after said that they liked it.

This is some fly you high ride that the kids loved! ALL of our kids LOVE roller coaster, stomache dropping rides. They take after me NOT Tony.

Bumper Bugs... Lily loved this.

This was too slow and boring so the kids said afterward. It was a journey through Heimlichs garden of food.

We went into the bigger part of the park and Jax Tony and I did California Screamin'. It was a great ride but long line. Afterwards we did a Toy Story ride that was Stupid in my opinion but the boys loved it. It was like going into an arcade world where you have to shoot laser guns for points and they keep track of your scores. After that we were pretty hungry so we did a huge splurge and went to ARIEL's grotto. WOW the girls were in Seventh Heaven. They were able to meet Ariel (lily's favorite) and spend several minutes talking with her. They then sat us at a table and served a very fancy, very expensive, meal. The highlight was that every 7 mins or so they would announce a new princess into the dining hall. The girls would squeal with delight and each princess would take time to come to each table and visit, and take pictures with the little girls. Here are some of the shots.

Jaxson was a great sport about the whole dinner thing. Here he is trying to entertain himself as KING TRITON. I think he secretly loved seeing all the beautiful princess up close! Tony teased him mercilessly of course.
After dinner we did Soarin over California. IT was amazing. All the kids including Lily LOVED it. Our only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. We wanted it to go for at least 15 mins. Oh well right. We finished off the night by Tony and the oldest two going on Grizzly rapids ride. Lily was soooo upset that she couldn't go until Sarah came off the ride bawling because she was wet. So back to the condo at 10:00pm . The kids fell instantly asleep and Tony and I stayed up and watch some uninterupped TV. Silly I know but it was nice.

testing testing one two three

In August Tony took the kids up to Washington to visit the cousins. They went on a fun hike. He was at a conference most of the week. We are very grateful for Aunts and Grandma who took care of the kids!

The lake was REALLY cold, but of course Lily was game for getting in.

While Tony was there he was able to have a nice candlelight dinner with his sweet Grandma Bebe. She is such an amazing lady.

Catching Up

Back in May, Lily cut all of her hair off. These first two picts are AFTER I fixed what i could. The last two show it as she had done it. Sad continuing of the story is that mid-Aug, just when it was growing, Sarah took Lily down to the Salon and cut it again!! Lily's hair was up in a little pony on the top of her head, Sarah cut everything that wasn't in the ponytail, to the SCALP. Needless to say Lily has a long time before she looks like she has 'mupunzel' hair.

AWHHH. Back to school!! I love this time of year! Sarah and Jaxson love riding the bus together. At least that is what they say. Jaxson is in 3rd grade, Sarah in 1st, and Lily is in a co-op preschool which I teach every 3 weeks. Lily loves it but really wants to ride the bus. We have two more years!!

Get With It!

So I was informed that I wasn't posting enough
I agree. I promise to do better. I won't say HOW MUCH better, but I will do better. I will try to catch up on life since our 80's hoorrah.......Lets see?

McCall

We went up to McCall again this year with our friends the Dames. They are so generous to always include us. We love being with them. The kids all got along fabulously and the adults never got to bed before midnight. (SORRY!)All in all it was a great end to the summer.

Jaxson and Tony decided to try out Fishing. As you can see it went Really well.

We Love going to Ice Cream Alley in
downtown McCall. Lily was so tired by this point( After a long hike, then long boat ride) she fell asleep on this swing as we were all eating ice cream.

We were boating around and saw a cool island so we found a safe place and docked the boat on some logs then got off and explored. Obviously Sarah and Jaxson thought they were pretty tough. The other little boy is Isaac Dame. We are hopeing Sarah and Isaac will get married. hehe

Here are a few pictures that I promised of my Grandma and I visiting my parents in Nebraska back in July. Sorry for the delay in posting those.

This is the Navoo pagent. WOW I loved it and it was so worth the cold drizzle we had to watch it in.

I also was able to go to the Nauvoo temple and do some work inside. It is gorgeous. You really begin to appriciate all that those people worked at and had to then leave. What a sad yet inspiring story.

I just love my grandma! She is the funnest person to be with. We went shopping one of the days and we were posing like the manaquins in the windows. Overall the trip was sooo lovely. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Be Prepared

Be prepared for a very painful experience.

I laughed so hard my abs are still sore. We had our 80's party on Sat. I was so impressed at how awsome everyone looked! Every time someone would show up it would take us a minute to recognize them. Here are just a few of the pics of the costumes.

We had two pac-man stations going to see who could get the high score. Big hit with the guys. We had two lipsyncs. We actually had 4 but the others weren't able to make it.(bummer)This first one is our Relief Society Pres and her husband. They were total 80's buffs!

This lipsync is obviously Tony and his little gang. They were all such good sports to do this with him. We all couldn't stop laughing and talking about it at church the next day.

Tony was dressed as George Michaels and I was just an 80's chic. It really was funny how easily I remembered how to rat my bangs! I can't believe we looked like this and thought it was cute!
Overall a fun time was had by all. By the way sorry for the UnCreativeness of this post. I am still learning all the ins and out's of this blog thing.

80's Party!!!!

Tony and I are going to be having an 80's party. The idea came from my older sister Emily. Their group of friends had one and she said it was a blast. We will be having pac man tournements, lipsync contest, games, and lots of food. We have already gotten lots of responses to our invitation. I wanted something that would bring a huge smile to peoples faces everytime they looked at it posted on their fridge. These are the pictures that we put on the invite.

I think that it is sooo funny! I am sure other people think we are sooo strange. At least they know who we are and that we are very comfortable with it. hehe Tony had to put on one of my pick shirts and he has a big chain around his neck. It is a little hard to see with all his hair. It is Aug. 1st so if anyone else reading this blog wants to come your are more than welcome. It will be RADICAL!

Grandpa Cory came down to visit us during the 4th weekend. While he was here he was a sweetheart and took some pictures for us. We just walked over to the neighbors backyard. (no one lives there right now). I know we should spend the money on some professional photography, but I think he did a pretty Great job with the tools he was given. Thanks Bampa!

I'm Finally Here!

Yeah! I am officially a blogger. This is all thanks to my good friend Kerri. We are here at her house right now. She is giving me a tutorial on how it all works. I just hope that I can remember it when I get home. So check this out in about 2 days and I should have lots of pictures and posts ready.
